Hi everyone! My name is Mischa, I have been building a Data Science Workflow at a startup over the last years. I have started looking into Kedro some months ago and plan to lift most of our work into this framework over the next weeks, exciting project! Also thanks for all the great work, documentation and community, it's a pleasure to work with Kedro for all those reasons!

Hello, all! I'm a Senior BI Engineer at an energy company in the US finishing up my masters in data science. I found kedro the other day while searching for a good DS project management framework. DS projects are relatively new at our company and most of my time has been spent setting up data pipelines and translating outputs to more user friendly interpretations for upper management to get further buy-in. I'm particularly interested in dockerization of kedro for portability. Excited to be part of the community and learn more about kedro.

Nice to meet you all, I am a developer working for a software company in Japan. Started working recently with Kedro for a project inside the company and also for my personal hobby projects. Hope you are all having a good day 🙂

Hi! I’m a data scientist at a small startup in the US and stumbled upon Kedro a few weeks ago. Been slowly digging in and can’t wait to use it for my next ML project!

Hello everyone! My name is Komikado and I am a software engineer in Japan. I am very excited about Kedro. In my work, I am mainly focusing on Graph Neural Networks (Pytorch geometric) and Graph XAI methods (Dive into graph). I am so happy if anyone could tell me the examples of GNN with Kedro and XAI with Kedro!

Hello @T.Komikado I think this is the first I’ve heard of people working on that problem with Kedro. Very cool topic though- so happy to help you think through what works for you!

Hi everyone! My name is Bartek and I'm a ML Engineer at a Polish software house specialising in Machine Learning, especially in the context of Computer Vision. I stumbled upon Kedro on an accident a few weeks ago and have been very delighted with the tool so far, hope it only gets better and more popular 🙂

Hi everyone! I'm Luke and I'm building data products for my organization. So far I've focused on building a database and ELT with dbt (https://github.com/dbt-labs/dbt-core), but excited to dive into Kedro and get folks involved (we don't have a data science team...yet!). The documentation, community, webinars are great! Happy to be here.

We're huge fans of dbt on the Kedro team and think over time we should delegate big chunks of the data engineering workflow to it with Kedro specialising on the ml-engineering workflow

Hey @User, let us know if you chose kedro, or more importantly if you choose not to. It would be interesting to see what makes kedro not the right choice for some teams.

Hi @User ! Love all the work you have been doing for the community! Using Kedro to build each one of our data pipelines (and we have a lot of them) has allowed for standardization across projects and implementation of good software development practices. The modular structure of Kedro pipelines helps us to conceptualize and develop our projects in a manageable way and makes it much much easier to share between team members. I also love its integration with other packages like MLflow (through plug-ins) and Pandera (using custom hooks) for observability and quality control. All in all, I can't say enough about how important Kedro is to our work!

How would you see this working? Would it be simple access to the dbt models?

I really like dbt’s data lineage functionality, where in the generated docs I can see what tables (models) are used to create other tables/views and ultimately feed into what dashboards (what dbt calls exposures). Many of my Kedro pipelines produce a final dataset that is uploaded to a SQL table. So as a start maybe somehow showing the Kedro pipeline as part of the lineage of the dataset it produces. I’m not sure I’m expressing myself very well. 😅

Put another way, Kedro Viz and the dbt data lineage docs generated from the models are tools that appeal to me in similar ways, by giving me a “systems-level” view of my code/data that really helps me to grasp what my data infrastructure looks like.

I’m sure there are lots of other great ways that dbt and Kedro can work together. I just started using dbt, so my imagination is limited. I’d love to hear what everyone thinks. 😂
